Ageratum Seeds
Tip: Ageratum are wonderful bedding plants for the garden and most make excellent cutflowers!
Note: Germination instructions are not on seed packets, follow the instructions below for starting seed.
Plant Ageratum seed outdoors in early spring after danger of frost is past or start indoors 6 to 8 weeks earlier. Space seeds 1/2 inch apart in rows 4 to 6 inches apart. Cover Ageratum seed with 1/8 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds start to sprout.
Thinning: When plants are 2 inches tall, thin or transplant 4 to 6 inches apart in the row.
Ageratum seed germinates in 10 to 18 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions.
